What ShortLifeMail is
ShortLifeMail is a disposable inbox generator. When you open the site, it creates a temporary email address for you automatically. You can copy that address, use it on another website, and check your inbox by clicking Refresh. No account. No password. No tracking.
The inbox lasts for ten minutes by default. You can extend it if you need more time. When you are done, the address and everything in it is deleted automatically.
Why it exists
Many websites ask for an email address before showing content, unlocking a free download, or confirming a sign-up. In many cases, that email address then ends up on a mailing list that sends weekly newsletters, promotional emails, or marketing campaigns you never asked for.
ShortLifeMail was built to solve that problem. It gives you a real, working inbox that you can use for low-risk online tasks. You get the email you need. Your personal inbox stays clean.
What we believe about email privacy
Your personal email address is connected to your identity, your accounts, and your communication. Sharing it with every website you visit creates real risk: more spam, more marketing, and more exposure if a website is ever breached or sells its data.
We think people should have a practical way to manage that risk. Temporary email is not a perfect solution to every privacy problem, but it is a useful tool for reducing unnecessary exposure during routine online tasks.
What we stand for
No accounts
You should not have to register to use a basic privacy tool. ShortLifeMail works without any sign-up process.
No tracking
We do not track what websites you use the temporary address on or what emails you receive.
No long-term storage
Temporary inboxes and messages are deleted automatically. They are not stored or retained after expiry.
Honest about limits
We are clear about what temporary email is not suitable for. It should not be used for important, sensitive, or long-term accounts.
When to use ShortLifeMail
ShortLifeMail is best for low-risk, short-term situations. If you need to receive a confirmation email, access a free download, test a website, or sign up for something you may not use again, this tool can protect your main inbox from the follow-up.
- Testing websites or web applications.
- Receiving one-time confirmation emails.
- Accessing free content without joining mailing lists.
- Protecting your main inbox from spam.
- Quick sign-ups where you do not need long-term access.
When not to use it
Temporary email is the wrong tool for accounts that matter. If you need to recover access to an account, receive sensitive information, or keep a record of what was sent, use your real email address.
- Banking, financial accounts, or payments.
- Medical, legal, or government services.
- Password recovery for important accounts.
- Shopping orders you need to track or return.
- Any account you expect to use long-term.
The team behind ShortLifeMail
ShortLifeMail is an independent project run by a small team. The email infrastructure is powered by mail.tm, a trusted disposable email API. The frontend and guides are maintained in-house.
We built ShortLifeMail because we use temporary email ourselves and wanted a clean, fast, honest tool without distractions or hidden data collection.
